SUMMARY:PEACE PICNIC AT AWBURY ARBORETUM
DESCRIPTION:PEACE PICNIC AT AWBURY ARBORETUM \nEveryone is invited to a Potluck Peace Picnic at Awbury Arboretum on Sunday\, Sept. 20\, at 4 p.m. This picnic carries on the tradition of the Taylor Farm Peace Picnic held in summers past\, led by Suzanne Day. This year’s picnic is sponsored by Arch Street Friends Meeting and hosted by Robert V. Peters\, who lives at the Arboretum. Everyone interested in peace and justice issues is invited to attend and bring their kids and guests. \nBob Smith\, long-time organizer of the Brandywine Peace Community\, will give an update on the campaign opposing the Drone Warfare Command Center in Horsham and recent commemorations of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and nonviolent action at Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia that are part of a decades old campaign of nonviolent resistance to the world’s #1 war profiteer and U.S.’s chief nuclear weapons contractor.  A free-will offering will be taken to support the work of the Brandywine Peace Community . \nOther local groups will present short summaries about their  work this year for peace. Awbury Arboretum is easy to reach by the R7 SEPTA train (get off at Washington Ave. stop) or by car. Come early and enjoy this magical 80-acre forest and garden. Map and directions\, see http://awbury.org/directions/ \nFor information\, contact Robert Peters\, 646-684-9638\, RVP121353@aol.com \n
