Man holds a banner with text ”No war”. \nMessages of solidarity from antiwar activists in the United States to the antiwar people of Russia\nWhile governments make propaganda\, pursuing their own horrific wars while denouncing the wars of governments they don’t like\, people all over the world want peace and oppose the cruelty of war. Seeing news of antiwar demonstrations by courageous people in Moscow\, St. Petersburg\, and elsewhere in Russia\, we here in the United States express our warm solidarity with those protests. The terrible destruction being inflicted in Ukraine by Russia’s armed forces is as abhorrent as the terrible destruction inflicted in Iraq\, Afghanistan\, and other countries in the deceptive name of the “war on terror” by the armed forces of the United States. We denounce all such killing\, no matter what the nationality of the military forces — and we pledge to rededicate ourselves to nonviolently resisting the militarism of the U.S. government. https://act.rootsaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/index?action_KEY=14539&start=100\n\n\nNuclearBan.US  calls for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and for negotiations leading to a peaceful solution to the present crisis\, taking into consideration the wider security needs of all the parties involved\, including Russia.\n\nThe illegal and potentially disastrous invasion of Ukraine by Russia closely follows the pattern of recent illegal and disastrous invasions of other countries by the United States. The US and allied invasion and occupation of Iraq\, for instance\, was in direct violation of UN resolutions and of international law. The NATO bombing of Serbia four years earlier was similarly in direct violation of UN resolutions and of international law. \nLast week\, Russia conducted a nuclear weapons exercise\, just as NATO did in October of last year and has done every year since its founding. All such exercises represent an implicit threat to use nuclear weapons\, and make it increasingly likely that these weapons will be used\, despite the claims that nuclear weapons only exist for deterrence purposes.\nFull statement…https://www.nuclearban.us/ukraine-stop-the-blame-stop-the-threats-and-start-negotiating/ \n \n\n
