Three days later\, on August 9\, 1945\, more than 75\,000 people died in the atomic bombing of Nagasaki\, Japan. More than 100\,000 people died in the days and years ahead\, and continue to die\, from the radiation poisoning of the first atomic bombings. \nSaturday\, August 6\, 7:30p.m. Hiroshima Day  Sundown Peace Observance to Abolish Nuclear Weapons.  Market Street Bridge\, corner of Market Street and Schuylkill Ave.\, across from 30th Street Station (east side).\nMourn the nuclear world.\nJoin us in lighting a candle for peace over the waters below and sounding the bell\, calling for nuclear disarmament and an end to war.\n\n
