SUMMARY:Good Friday Stations of Justice\, Peace\, and Nonviolent Resistance to Lockheed Martin
DESCRIPTION:Let us pray that we will break the chains of violence and war; that we may resist war-making and stop Lockheed Martin with acts of justice and Jesus’ love. May the cross\, which over time was transformed from a means of violence to a symbol of liberation and peace\, be our symbol of nonviolence and justice\, a sign of nonviolent resistance to greed\, militarism\, empire\, violation of the earth\, and war.\nJoin a Journey of Mourning and Truth…\nGood Friday at Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia\, PA\nLockheed Martin\, the world’s largest war profiteer and the United States’ chief Pentagon contractor (more than $40 billion annually) and producer nuclear weapons weapons and missile systems\, AEGIS guided missiles cruisers\, F-35 Joint Strike Stealth Fighter\,  the most expensive weapons system in human history.  Lockheed Martin is also among the chief manufacturers of drone warfare technology the remote-controlled planes\, the hellfire missiles they fire\, and the space-based satellites which control the drones from the continental U.S. in targeting killing against people thousands of miles away.\n\n\nApril 3\, Noon – Good Friday Stations of Justice\, Peace\, and Nonviolent Resistance to Lockheed Martin.  Mall & Goddard Boulevards\, King of Prussia\, PA (directly behind the King of Prussia Mall\, and across from the UA King of Prussia movieplex).  Bring an umbrella.\n\nNonviolence discipline for participants\, http://www.brandywinepeace.com/nonviolence.html .Call the Brandywine Peace Community\, (610) 544-1818\, by April 12 if you are interested in participating in the nonviolent resistance/civil disobedience and willing to face arrest.  There will be an on-site meeting at 11a.m. for those planning on doing the civil disobedience.\n\nApril 4\, 1967. Exactly one year before his assassination\, Dr. King spoke in New York City at Riverside Church. He condemned the war in Vietnam\, calling the U.S. government “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today” and drew a connection to the war and its domestic fallout – the impoverishment of people in this country\, the export of racism\, and an arrogant belief in the absolute rightness of U.S. policy around the world. Moreover\, Dr. King in calling for nonviolent resistance to “the evil triplets of American society: racism\, materialism\, and militarism” was speaking to an ethical inseparability and continuum of action for social justice and peace.- from Good Friday Stations of Justice\, Peace\, and Nonviolent Resistance to Lockheed Martin\, 2014\n\n\n
