Starting Point for the Dover to DC Memorial Procession
From New
York, Philadelphia, Wilmington & Other Points North
Take I-95 South to Delaware Hwy One South (I-95 Delaware Exit 4; follow
signs to Dover).
Follow Hwy One south to Exit #95 marked as "South Dover/Camden routes
10 & 113." Turn hard left through light and then right into
Delaware Route 10. (Be aware that DE Hwy 1 evolves from a 4-lane open
access road to controlled access and then becomes the Delaware Toll Rd.
Exit #95 is just beyond the south toll plaza.
Follow the signs along Route 10 West to Camden. Route 10 becomes
Camden-Wyoming Avenue.
In Camden, proceed along Rt., 10, Camden-Wyoming Ave. to the Camden
Friends Meeting House at 122 E. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Camden, DE 19934.
The Meeting is on the left, about 100 yards past the Camden Fire
Station (also on the left).
From Lower Delaware, Salisbury, MD
& Other Points South
Take Route 13 North to Route 10, turn left (West) on Route 10 to enter
Camden, DE and look for the Camden Friends Meeting House at 122 E.
Camden-Wyoming Ave., Camden, DE 19934 on the left, about 100 yards past
the Camden Fire Station (also on the left).
From
Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Other Points West to Camden Delaware
To travel from Washington and Baltimore to Camden, the starting point
of the Dover to DC Memorial Procession, one may follow I-95 north to
Delaware Route One South (I-95 Delaware Exit 4) and the follow the
directions along DE Hwy 1 provided above for travelers coming from
points north. The distance from Baltimore to Dover via I-95 north to DE
Route 1 South is approximately 110 miles and generally takes about 2.25
hours. Add about 35 miles from Washington.
Alternatively, there are many routes through Maryland's Queen Anne's,
Caroline, and Kent Counties to Camden, DE. The distance from Washington
to Dover via Maryland's counties is 106 miles; Baltimore to Dover is 96
miles and both take just over 2 hours.
The D2D Logistics Committee recommends the following route for those
wishing to travel through Maryland. It will place additional
directional signs along the route from the junction of U.S. Hwy 301 and
MD Hwy 304. Be on the lookout for "D2D to Camden Friends" placards at
each junction.
From Washington, DC and Other Points Southwest
Take U.S.Route 50/301 (New York Ave. in DC), east from DC, through
Annapolis, and across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to Queenstown, MD (21
miles from Annapolis)
Bear north/left to continue north on Route 301 to the junction with MD
Route 304 (29.6 miles), and turn right/east into 304.
After 9 miles on MD Hwy 304, turn left/northeast into MD 312, Oakland
Rd., and travel 2.3 miles along MD 312 to junction with MD 313,
Goldsboro Rd. at Baltimore Corner.
Turn right (southeast) into 313, Goldsboro Rd., and travel 3.8 miles
into Goldsboro.
Turn north on Goldsboro Main St. to Cartwright Ln. .2 miles.
Turn right (east) into MD 287, Sandtown Rd.. In Delaware, Sandtown Rd.
becomes Willow Grove Rd., DE Hwy 10.
Continue 12.3 miles into Camden.
Turn right on E. Camden-Wyoming Ave. (still DE Hwy.10 East) to the
Camden Friends Meeting House at 122 E. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Camden, DE
19934. The Metting House is on the right.
From Baltimore, MD & Other
Points North & West
Get on Baltimore Beltway 695 heading south towards Annapolis (follow
signs).
Merge left into I-97 South to Annapolis.
Merge from I 97 into U.S. 50/301 and keep left following signs for the
Bay Bridge.
Once over the bridge, follow the DC to Camden directions above.
